Aqlaam Vision makes a swift reappearance following her impressive Doncaster victory last week as she tackles a richly-endowed event at Newmarket on Saturday.
The Aqlaam filly lines up in the 100,000 Tattersalls Millions Fillies’ Median Auction Stakes hot on the heels of a seven-furlong nursery event on Town Moor. She was striking at the fifth attempt and while she will be dropping back to six furlongs this time, trainer Clive Brittain is confident the distance will not be a problem.
Brittain, who won the race two years ago with Wahylah, said: “She’s in very good form, she took her race at Doncaster very well. I wouldn’t be too worried about dropping back in trip with her as she definitely has some speed there. She’s well and, as far as I’m concerned, she’s ready to run.”
William Haggas’ Oxsana is another to make a quick return as she won at Yarmouth earlier in the week, while stablemate Amnesia also takes her chance.
Luca Cumani saddles Zawiyah, who bumped into a highly-rated filly in Radiator when going down by 15 lengths at Lingfield last time, but he believes she has plenty to find.
The Newmarket trainer told www.lucacumani.com: “We are only hopeful of a prominent run from Zawiyah in the valuable sales race given the six-furlong trip is on the short side and she is poorly off at the weights with some given she only has a BHA mark of 71.”
Richard Hannon won with 14-1 shot Victrix Ludorum last year and fields Oriel and Manderley this time. Godolphin’s Wedding Ring boasts some excellent form, having finished third to Joyeuse in a Listed event at Salisbury on her latest start.Read the rest of the story British Horseracing Authority News Headlines
