Travers & Pacific Classic preview

by TCI 3 years ago

The TCI guys are back for an 11-week run leading up to the Breeders’ Cup. Jon & Joel pick up right where they left off – covering the 3-year-old division which is in action Saturday with the prestigious Travers (G1) at Saratoga. While Sunday’s Pacific Classic (G1) isn’t a 3-year-old race, champion Shared Belief is out to take on his elders and prove he’s one of the top Breeders’ Cup Classic contenders in the country. Who will win the Travers? Can Shared Belief beat older horses at 1 1/4 miles? Which 3-year-olds are best equipped to contend in the BC Classic in November?

Watch it. Comment.

Welcome back. Great to have you back on the air. I think Tonalist is over his head in this race and will not be surprised if he doesn’t hit the board, Big fan of Hollendorfer so really looking forward to Sunday

Hi Joel – Welcome back. Breeders Cup prep races really heating up now. I Thought Wicked Strong was very impressive in the Travers even though he lost a head bob at the wire. He should be a force in the BCC at Santa Anita. Shared Belief will get a real acid test going 1 1/4 on Sunday. I think Majestic Harbor is very dangerous in the BCC. He loves the SA track and the longer the better with him. Glad to see California Chrome on the worktab. He’s still my sentimental favorite and should be very dangerous in the Classic over his home track. Nothing better than home cooking! Finally, I think Bayern should get back to sprinting, he would be a real force in the BC Sprint. Again, glad to have you and Jon back! Can’t wait for your Breeders cup top 5’s for all of the divisions.
