Hi Joel – Very Exciting Super Saturday at Belmont and Santa Anita preps for Breeders Cup. The picture is starting to get clearer as to who the major players are. Next week will be equally big with several win and youre in races. BC Dirt Mile Division – Nice comeback win by Graydar. I believe that Pants on Fire could loom a serious threat at a price. BC Sprint – You were right about Private Zone Joel. He is very fast and very game. Nice second by Justin Phillip. Justin Phillip could be overlooked in the sprint, he is in form and believe he has a big shot. BC Turf – Not sure which Euros are coming over yet, but the USA has several quality contenders. Nice win by Little Mike, the defending champ picked a good time to get back into form. Big Blue Kitten has that explosive late kick and he could pull an upset at a price. I also thought Real Solution ran a big race in defeat. Joel – Point of Entry is training and trying to make this race, do you feel he would be a major player if he is entered, or would the layoff overly concern you? BC Juvenile – Impressive win at SA by Bond Holder. I also thought Dance with fate ran well to finish 2nd. Next week will tell alot when Strong Mandate and Honor Code hook up in the Champagne. BCC – Ultra Impressive win by Mucho Macho Man at SA in the Awesome Again Stakes. We know that MMM likes the SA track, and with Gary Stevens aboard and Game on Dude likely being the heavy favorite, I believe that MMM has a big shot at a good price. Ron Ron The Greek is back in the mix with his dominating win in the KY Jockey Gold Cup. Will Take Charge I believe will be a somewhat forgotten horse to bettors, possibly 10-1 or more. He is clearly in form and has a big upset chance. TC Insider Breeders Cup Top 5 icon above is a great idea. Keep up with the good work Joel, really looking forward to BC Saturday Card Nov. 2.

      Hey Joe!

I was disappointed in Real Solution. I thought he had every chance to go by and just went flat late, which makes me think he’s more of a 1 1/4-mile horse that doesn’t have the same punch going 1 1/2 miles. Going that distance will be hard for Point of Entry in his first start since early June IMO, so I would lean towards betting against him, especially with top, in-form Euros coming over.

I did like Graydar’s comeback, he looks primed to be a real contender in the Classic now if he can have a good month in October leading up.

I agree with you about Dance of Fate, he impressed me the most in that race, however, it was a slowly-run race. I just think the East Coast 2yo colts are better than the California colts at the moment…so like you said, I’m anxious to see Honor Code this weekend.

I also concur about Mucho Macho Man, what a win…He’s a horse with chronic feet issues but he looks like he’s on his game now. Watch out! Big-time contender now IMO. Just need to worry about a bounce, so it will be interesting to see what he looks like training up to the race.

I was not as big of a fan of Ron the Greek’s win. While it was obviously dominant, it reminded me more of past JCGC winners who could not come back and replicate the performance in the Classic. To me, he’s still a longshot at Santa Anita. I personally would put Will Take Charge in this camp too, I’m just not sold yet that he has what it takes to keep up with the elite older males this year. We’ll see!

Thanks for all the kind words Joe! Big shake-up this past weekend. A lot of big performances mixed with a lot of disappointments. This coming weekend will be equally as big!
