Member of the Racehorse Owners Association will have the opportunity to take a share of a 120,000 jackpot that is up for grabs at 12 midweek fixtures this year.
The ROA, in conjunction with the Racing Post, have pinpointed a dozen fixtures which will be allotted a jackpot fund of 10,000 to be divided between ROA members with winners.
If only one ROA member’s horse wins, they get all 10,000, but a minimum of 1,500 is guaranteed even if all of the races at a fixture are won by horses belonging to members.
The ROA Owners Jackpot will be launched at Leicester on February 13 and there will then be a further 11 Jackpot meetings, concluding at Bangor on December 12. More than 80 races will be covered by the bonus scheme.
ROA chief executive Richard Wayman said: “We are constantly looking for ways to add value to our members’ experience of racehorse ownership and a message that we have received loud and clear is that bonus schemes are very popular with many owners, particularly those with lower-rated horses.
“With a minimum payment guaranteed but the exact amount of the bonus not known until all the races on the card have been run, we hope that the ROA Owners Jackpot will add further excitement to what, in many cases, will already be a memorable day for those owners lucky enough to have a winner at a Jackpot fixture.”
The jackpot fixtures will all be run in midweek and are spread across Britain as well as between codes, with six Flat and six jump fixtures.Read the rest of the story British Horseracing Authority News Headlines
