NM-Bred Proceed Wins Mine That Bird Stakes

Proceed, a homebred son of Desert God racing for Michael C. Stinson of Fort Worth, Texas, kept his perfect record intact with a two-length victory in Saturday’s $120,000 Mine That Bird Stakes for 3-year-olds at Sunland Park. Making his first start against open company, Proceed went 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.47 while scoring his third win in as many outs. Alfredo Juarez Jr. rode the New Mexico-bred bay colt for trainer Joel Marr.
