First under tack show in the books at OBS

Hip No. 93, a Johannesburg colt consigned by Old South Farm, agent, drilled an eighth in :9 4/5 on Thursday to post the fastest work at the distance at the first session of the under tack show for the OBS March Sale of Selected 2-Year-Olds in Training next week. (Watch Breeze Video) Two youngsters–a Bluegrass Cat colt and a Montbrook colt–shared honors for the fastest quarter, stopping the timer in :20 4/5.

The Johannesburg colt is produced from the Carson City Quiet City, and is a half-brother to stakes-placed Veneti.

Hip No. 44, the Bluegrass Cat colt, is consigned by Derby Dreams, agent. The bay colt is out of Mesmerizing Lady, by Unbridled’s Song, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Spring Meadow. Hip No. 58, the Montbrook colt, is consigned by Ocala Stud, agent, and is a dark bay or brown colt out of stakes-placed My Golden Quest, by Coronado’s Quest.

The Under Tack Show resumes Friday morning at 8 a.m. with Hip No’s 181 – 362 scheduled to breeze.

The March Sale is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13th and 14th with each session beginning at 11 a.m. The OBS Day of Champions Races will be run on Monday, March 12th, with first post time at 1:00 p.m.
