As an eight-time champion jockey, Peter Scudamore, 56, needs little introduction. His father Michael, who died in July last year, rode 496 winners, among them the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National, two of the races that eluded his son.
In 2007, Peter’s son Tom, now 31, was appointed stable jockey to David Pipe, whose father Martin employed Peter in that capacity for seven years from 1986.
