Candy Ride colt tops early returns at Barretts

Hip No. 18, a bay colt by Candy Ride (ARG) out of the Mr. Greeley mare Sweet and Clever, sold for $220,000 to top early returns through the first 26 hips at the Barretts March sale of selected 2-year-olds in training on Monday night from Hinds Pavilion at Fairplex Park in Pomona, Calif.

Consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables, agent, the colt was purchased by Jamie McCalmont.

Hip No. 8, consigned by Becky Thomas’ Sequel Bloodstock, agent, sold to West Point Thoroughbreds for $195,000. By Pure Prize—Gatherindy, by A.P. Indy, the filly is a half-sister to stakes-placed Indian Camp.
