ARCADIA, Calif. (March 17, 2013)—Bright Thought, a scintillating 3 ¼ length winner of Saturday’s Grade II, $150,000 San Luis Rey Stakes going 1 ½ miles on turf, has established a new world record time of 2:22.72, according to the American Racing Manuel, official record keeper for American racing. The time eclipsed Hawkster’s record of 2:22.80, established on Oct. 14, 1989.
